History

From a local heating plant to Europe

With Håkan's foundation and Björn's drive, the journey continues.

1. A new path is taking shape

Håkan Lennartsson had extensive experience in the HVAC industry when he decided to strike out on his own in 2006. In Töcksfors, he took over a district heating plant and began building something step by step, with his sights set on more sustainable energy solutions.

2. From Concept to Foundation

A few years later, in 2012, he founded HL Hydronics—then known as HL VVS AB—and laid the foundation for what is now Hydrun.

3. An idea to build on

It started on a small scale, but with a clear vision: to develop solutions that make hydronic more reliable, energy-efficient, and sustainable over time.

4. As the journey grew

The idea took off, and the company grew. First in Sweden, then in Norway, and eventually across Europe. When Björn Lennartsson joined the company in 2016, it also became clear that the expertise and dedication would live on in the next generation.

5. When Everything Changed

In 2017, everything changed when Håkan passed away. Björn then took over the company, determined to preserve what his father had built while continuing to move forward.

6. The vision is gaining strength

Since then, the business has grown to include new products, new markets, and new contexts—but it remains rooted in craftsmanship, care, and a long-term perspective. Today, Håkan’s vision lives on at Hydrun. Not only in the products we build, but also in the way we work—closely with our customers, closely with our production, and with a strong belief that quality, expertise, and reliability make a real difference.
